In Amiga "pinball dreams 2" was called "Pinball fantasies". It had and a third sequel called "pinball illusions" did that ever came out on PC's ?

Yep, it's asking for a code from the instruction manual - I found the crack here:
http://home12.inet.tele.dk/per_stef/spil/cracks/p.htm
But the game hangs if I press the spacebar after the patch has been applied. Press the Windows key to get back to the desktop, and right-click minimized window on the taskbar to close the program. If anyone knows how to get this game working in XP, please post the method.

Couldn't find any working solution to bypass the protection.
The only way seems to be to use the PBD2 manual.
Sorry for my poor english :D

I had the same prob. I manually startet the dos-window and maually set the path to the pdcrack.com. an error-message appears, which says
"
search string not found!
file patch failure!
"
that is why, the game doesn't work and why the screen gets dark after pressing the spacebar.
does anyone know, how to fiy that problem?

Yeah I remember Pinball Fantasies!
You had the amusement park, a cemetary an off road courses and a game show room. Best pinball I ever played!

I had a number of problems with this...
1. The copy protection. Well, all I did for this was hit enter (must already be cracked).
2. I was running it in Dosbox, but the game would seem to lock up - black screen(like a bunch of people mentioned). I set the cycle count lower (I used 8000, tried 3000 as well but it was far too slow) and that seemed to fix this problem.
3. The table scrolling was creating some awful screen tears. So, I enabled the "Use doublebuffering" option in dosbox and now everything seems to work great.
Hope this helps some of you out.

Unless you have DOS drivers for your sound card I don't think you'll be able to get sound.

Why didn't you read the previous posts? The copy protection's already cracked, apparently.
AND PLEASE DON'T USE ALL CAPS; THERE'S NO NEED TO SHOUT AT PEOPLE!

I strongly suggest you use DosBox (http://dosbox.sourceforge.net) instead.
You can download it here (http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/download.php?main=1).
If you have any problems with it, try having a look at the official FAQ (http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php) on the DosBox site.
Basic Setup and Installation (http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php?page=Basic+Setup+and+Installation+of+Dos Box)
Command Line (http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php?page=CommandLine)
Z instead of C at the command prompt (http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php?page=FAQ%2FI+have+got+a+Z)
Internal Programs (http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php?page=Internal+Programs) (important, especially MOUNT)
Most of the stuff in there is not really needed, but you would do best to familiarize yourself with the specific topics I linked to.
The mounting of your DosBox games directory, switching the promt to the emulated C: drive and clearing the screen from previous commands can all be executed from the [autoexec] section of dosbox.conf (http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php?page=dosbox.conf), so you won't have to re-type them every time round.
Frontend programs (http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php?page=DOSBoxFrontends) can help running DosBox with varying configurations for different games.
For both a more accessible user interface and oldschool feel, you can use Norton Commander (get it from our programs and utilities page (http://www.abandonia.com/main.php?nav=programs) - scroll down to the bottom to find it). NC might seem awkward at first, but in fact it is a very functional genuine DOS era file manager frontend. It has a plethora of functions that will help you in navigating around the directories, while still retaining the command prompt.

Read the official DosBox FAQ (http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php), and particularly this part of it. (http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php?page=Basic+Setup+and+Installation+of+Dos Box)
It doesn't get simpler than that.

Pinball Dreams 2 is rather underrated, I think this is much better than the precursor, I guess if it wasn't released on the Amiga, then it wasn't any good...

Personally, I don't like this game that much. Reasons:
1) No ball saves. If you lose a ball in the first 5 seconds, it's GONE.
2) You can't remap the controls. As a Mac user (whose computer doesn't distinguish between Left and Right shift), this means a trip to the DOSBox remapper instead.
THAT SAID, the tables are pretty good.

well, the game was KINDA meant for pc.. so that you use DOS emulator is your mistake (advantage), dont nag about controls
