Wow, interesting game, I never heard of it before, and even Mobygames didn't. It reminds me a little of Excelsior Phase One (http://www.mobygames.com/game/windows/excelsior-phase-one-lysandia) (the actual Dos version was released at 1993).

MoE was a strategy-game, so complex that they were forced to release a "Gold" Edition later on that took out all <strike>interesting</strike> complicated parts..

So... It's an DOS / C64 game that was released in 1994 by the German Design Group (never heard of them though I'm german...).
It's no listed in the oldwarez list, so we have to investigate.

It's not older than 15 years. But this company doesn't seem to cooperate with the ESA.
But I'm no an expert in this. I just try to give a shortcut. :ok:

EDIT: Oh, I didn't see: Publisher and copyright is with Sunflowers! Look below! It's seems still to be sold.
So highly probable: NO GO! :not_ok:
Sorry :(

Uhm... look where? There is a marketplace called "Shop", but they only sell used games.. In the forum there is a link (http://cronosoft.white.prohosting.com/cronosoft/), but they are selling "new" games for the C64 and the SPECTRUM...

However, I've mailed Sunflowers, let's see what they think about it.

BTW: The game is a little bit like Dungeon Keeper, except for the fact that you have only one opponent how has your abilities. And the graphics were so cute.. (Please ignore the ugly C64 shots, better take a look here (http://www.thelegacy.de/pics/screen/m/M_4805_1107283884_Endoria_Ingamescreen02.png) or here (http://www.thelegacy.de/pics/screen/m/M_4805_1107283884_Endoria_Ingamescreen01.png).)

Well you still can purchase it new or in a box with other games.
I think that leeds us to the conclusion that you can have it in exchange to the proof that you do something productive also called money.
The short word for that is

Uhm.. Maybe I'm blind and stupid.. Could you please post a link to a page* where you can buy Magic of Endoria? Direct to the page of the product?

*not ebay

I actually meant ebay. And I just saw that it's not a shop but a "GbR", so it's a company's commercial interest and not Sunflowers'. Cause I think that it's a remnant sale and Sunflowers has already been paid.

I believe you may be right. :ok:

But I think we better wait for the answer email of sunflowers.

Magic of Endoria is not sold anymore for a long time now. You may find a copy in the Internet, at an (online-) auction or on a garage sale. We don't offer/release abandonware.
[/b]
Sounds like a go to me :brain:

BTW: I've also mailed the "German Design Group", and they told me that I should contact Sunflowers.

I have my doubts on this one. Does this mean they don't produce (in a way) abandonware
or
that they don't assign any of their games as abandonware?

Sounds to me rather like "We don't offer/release Abandonware, but others do and you may find the game there". I think the game's status can be defined with that as abandoned.

Can anyone set this thread to [APPROVED]? And upload this game, of couse? ;-)

Update: Found it! But I'm sure you need some sort of manual for this if you've never played it before..
http://www.ogplanet.de/dl_engine/comment.php?dlid=214
(You have to register before you can download it. Should I upload it?)

Why don't you give one of the admins or Kosta a pm to check it out?

Maybe you could review it too ;)

i got the game and the full german manual here at home,
i could scan in the manual,
and also maybe a short list with translation of the messages and how the rooms need to be digged to build them.
also i got a working dosbox config for it.
i play it sometimes with my uncle via lan crashes sometimes but under the line it works fine that way.

If yes, contact one of the updaters (Romano, Sebatianos, Tulac)

Read these useful links and if you don't know what to do feel free to ask ;)

Hi everybody.
First of all, i`m new to this forum but i`m not new to abandonia in general.
I`ve found lot`s of games that i liked when i was young but there was one i could`nt find. And thats why i just created this account. I hope that one of you could help me find the name of that game, which i played when i was a kid...

I played it on the 486 with 100 Mhz my father owned in that time. It had a VGA Graphic and its name contained just one word.

It was a real-time, fantasy, strategy game. There was you and one opponent, but i cant remember if you were a sorcerer or something like that.
You needed to dig hallways and rooms into the earth which was devided into small hexagonal fields. When you dug out the correct form, like a circle or a square you could build special rooms in them. There were two levels above each other. In the higher one you could build all kind of producing rooms and in the lower one u could build mines.
I remember that you needed to recruit different kinds of creatures to aid you. There were soldiers, miners, blacksmiths and one creature i can remember very well. It were a bag with eyes that could walk around and function as a transport unit. Every unit had in common that they could get leveled up when they work to get more transportation room, work faster of fight harder.

I think that`s all...

Thanks in advance!

Can you remember the visual style?

Was it a bit like Age of Empires- or Dungeon Keeper style?

ann1

more like dungeon keeper.
in dk you could dig squares from the earth, in that one you dig hexagonal. ^^

Hello community :-)

i'm looking for a game I played many many many years ago and i dont know if my Memory is still right about it.

The game was 2D and you looked top down on the game field. It must be kind of strategic game. You have to control dwarfs and they are diggin through hexagonal brown fields and you could build a smithy or an armory i think... you also could build warrior dwarfs which could be upgraded (to gold status or something like that)

when your dwarfs had digged a while it could be that you found an enemy dwarf race (or they found you first) an then you could build Traps (poison traps or so) or send your warrior dwarfs to the enemy. I imagine that there were also a kind of Larvals (blue!?) but i dont know which function thea have.

as you see my remembrance isn't the best and i don't know if i explained it right but i hope that someone does remember the game and could tell me the title so that my search could go on :-)

Could it be Dungeon Keeper (http://www.mobygames.com/game/dungeon-keeper/screenshots) or maybe Cave Wars (http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/cavewars/screenshots/gameShotId,58200/)?

Actually, Age of Wonders (http://www.mobygames.com/game/windows/age-of-wonders/screenshots/gameShotId,3295/) could fit the description too...

while i dont know which game it is, if they are truly hexagonal fields to dig through, its not DK 1 or 2, nor cave wars. the fields there are very much square

i seem to remember the game you describe, but not enough to add anything usefull

I know it isn't the game you're looking for but Dwarf Fortress (http://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/) Fits the description.

Myth maybe? Never played it so I wouldn't know.
