I just use the exe. file "fight" and it starts right up without a password...and this is by far the best game ever made. ever.

Why the bad review because of the bad graphics?

Hey it was 1991, an this was the first Polygone based game I know,
You can even look through the eyes of the boxer (funny hand-balls moving then in front of your eyes when blocking).

10 Years ago I liked the game very much an made it second, couldnt beat the Champ. Try it!

The game already got 4 on 5 which is excellent, and I've read the review completely and I never got the feeling the reviewer got the point out only because of graphics.

I remember playing that game demo for a long time on one of my old computers... My game was to KO the computer as fast as I could... I think my record was around 8 or 9 seconds, but I don,t remember well... Maybe it was even lower, something in the 5 seconds...

heh, this is game is too easy. When I was playing this 10 years ago I won all the opponents including champ, with no losses. But when I installed it now again
I'm having trouble with smoothness. Everything goes neatly until boxing starts.
The guys are like from slowmotion movie. Could the problem be EMS, it didn't

I loved this game when i played it 12 years ago on an old comydine pc on dos. Now it seems to be running slowly on windows xp. I was 3 years old at the time, and rose to the rank of about 5 or 6.

What are the keyboard controls, just enter to punch and the arrows to move?

What's up with calling the game ugly? It was awesome graphics when it first came out, and that look also seemed to serve dire straights just fine. :D

But anyway, I remember way back that my guy used to keep getting too old and his skills kept going down too much for me to defeat the final guy. :( Was fun to keep trying though.

Oh man oh man I'm so happy I found Ambandonia. It's reconnecting me to all my childhood games! 4D Sports Boxing is one of the finest games I've ever played in my life. Such good memories, such fun gaming all over again. :D

The best boxing game until fight night 2. Someone should find the way to play it on line, the way it is graphics and all.

The ultimate accomplishment is beign the champ in the less possible fights, that means 18 fights. And if want to add fashion those 18 wins have to come by KO or TKO, then of course the easy part is defending the crown until the boxer retires.

If anyone knows if this game is available to play on line (please email me). I believe it would be very exciting to be able to play it online.

I 1st played this game about 12 years ago on a 12MHZ 286. To this day it is the most realistic fighting game I have ever played.

Whoever said its easy is lying, it takes a long time to master it. In the upper ranking matches one mistake can cost you the bout. I never did beat the Champ, all of my attributes were full to the max, I would land combo after combo without doing much damage and he would knock me out with just a few punches. The degree in difficulty between the #2 guy and The Champ is HUGE. I beat the crap out of the #2 guy without any problems at all but couldn't even put a dent into the Champ.

great game, thanks for the tips to get it to work. to summarise how i got the game started: in xp, just unzip it and run 'fight.com'. before you do, run 'setup.exe' to disable the sound so that the game will run even if you don't specify the correct sound setup.

for the moves, Enter is for punching, Shift (is it?) is for taunting.

It´s a good thing to use the number keys (right of the keyboard), since there are moves w/ the home/pgup/pgdown/end keys.

3rd best game ever (Darklands and Civilization Classic are 1# and 2#).

oh, stunts was pretty cool w/ sugar on top, too.

Did anyone notice it takes the boxers at least 5 seconds to walk from the corner to the middle?

And then the annoying boxers we can just spend easely 30 seconds walking away to the other side of the ring every time you throw a punch.

It has some nice features. But that slow walking is very annoying.

"4D Sports" was a series of sports games published by Mindscape: Boxing, Tennis and Driving (aka Stunts).

4D does stand for 4th Dimension, which is Time iirc, as all the games from the series offer "true four-dimensional gameplay" by letting the player access advanced replay features.

I played the living daylights out of this game when it came out in 91. It is one

I only played it in the first person perspective. If you are under the age of 26,

of the boxer Anagram Unblinclna? He was the 20th ranked fighter or something. Obviously the last name is an anagram, but I could never figure it out.

It might not be Windows compatible. Have you tried running the game in DOSBox?

I've beaten the game, but im doing it again.. right this time. This game is very difficult to master in all its depth. You can beat it quickly with a small ammount of rounds like less than 5, but if you want to test yourself, go first person (the best), and the timer more than than 3-4 mins, so a minimum 15 minute fight. Also, in preparation for your 'title fights' using your 'exhibition' mode to get better, you may NEVER train on the guy you are about to, or will fight in the near future, this would never happen for a boxer and you should preserve the first meet. It is easy to beat the champ with short-timed rounds and a flurry of stupid blows for 6 minutes taking more dammage than inflicting.

Before you start a "Main Event" fight, it will ask for a boxer's name. You can find the boxers' names in a text file.

This game is the best boxing game that I know. As one of the poster have said, whoever said this game is easy is lying. When your starting out, your opponents are really easy but as you climb your way up, opponents get harder to beat especially the top 10. To defeat the champ, all I can do is to outbox him and win by points. But I was never able to KO that guy.

Yeah, I defeated the champ in no time, though I usually suck with action games. Only possible conclusion is that the game is too easy. :bleh:

If I remember correctly (it's been awhile), I used the chicken method to beat the tougher opponents : Hit, run away, hit, run away, ... :whistling:

There are two versions of the game: "4d sports boxing" and "4d boxing". You used to play "4d boxing", same as I, but it's hard to find it on internet (i have one copy of the game and soon I will upload here). The graphics of "4d sports boxing" are crappy (look at the boxer's eyes) and it's musics sucks (don't u agree?).

PS: I discovered that you can punch your oponnent when he is on the floor (4d sports boxing), but u can't do it on "4d boxing".


:boxing: Well, not exactly a cutscene, but when you become the champ, the judge says "WE HAVE A NEW WORLD CHAMPION" (i don't remember exactly) and the newspaper announces that the champ falls (don't remember either).

If you are dangerously exhausted, the taunt button can help you. To increase your "D" meter when it is too low, hold down+left+Lshift(taunt) to shake your head. I believe that if you hold left+Lshift you can restore your strenght meter.

Voc? precisa executar SETUP.exe e mudar a configuraç?o de som para No music or Sound effects.
Execute SETUP.exe then change the Sound options to No music or Sound effects. OR DOWNLOAD DOSBOX!

Actually, the cutscenes are avaible in another version of 4d sports boxing named "4d boxing" (yeah, it sure is better than abandonia's one)

There's another version of 4d boxing with improved graphics, sounds and music. Rare to find on internet, but I have a copy.

I used to play this game plenty like 14 years ago when I got it. I played it for years actually, I have never played any other game nearly as much.

With all that training I became pretty good also. When you figure out the correct tactic, it becomes pretty easy to TKO The Champ inside one round if your fighter has the best abilities. Hint for tactics: just keep your gard up and crcle to your left (if you are right-handed) and eep throwing the left hook. When you land it well, start throwing the right hand hook to the body + uppercut combination and you will easily destroy all the opponents.

When I played it more then 10 years ago I reached the "Champ" and couldnt beat him, he was too tough.
But now I don't seem to know how am I suppose to fight.
I just recently discovered that you can also use 7 9 1 3 on the keyboard for more types of boxing.
However, is there also some sort of defending? I couldnt find something like this.
And when do I need to land the punch? when he is trying to punch I should also try to punch him from the opposite direction?
Because I remember doing things like that when I was a kid.
Also, the game seem to stutter a bit, especially if played against a computer and not a human player.
Maybe it is also because it use the PC speaker?
How do I run it without PC speaker?

I just started playing this game again. beat the champ in 23 fights with no losses as a light heavyweight, now its my mission to beat STAS on the high score-board! this is one of my top 5 fave games

Anybody know how I can get this game playing? I have dosbox, it works perfectly on my old computer with windows 98. In my other computers that have windows vista, when i download dosbox, and the 4d sports boxing file, every time i open up the FIGHT file i see the start screen that says press any key. Once a I press a key the screen just disappears. What should I do? I love this game and would like to play it on my new laptop and not always on my old desk top. Plus, i even used the exact same file from one computer to the next, and it just doesn't work on vista. any suggestoins? Thanks.

In Vista put the games in your c:\users\your_name\
And run dosbox as admin or put the dosbox conf file also in c:\users\your_name\

This is my favourite sports game. Well, I think the first version of this game, 4D Boxing (Not 4D Sports Boxing) is better. It has more of those funny, polygon heads and different boxing rings. I wonder why this second version was toned down.

I cant believe it this was one of the first computer games i ever played. And dont hate on it because of its graphics its an old game and everyone knows gameplay > graphics. Hell i just got hooked on xcom for like 4 days straight with minimal sleep and thinking about it even when im not playing it. Isnt a game to date that has done that to me.

But back to the game. Definitely an awesome boxing game because it implements rpg elements into it. Your guy has stats and stuff.. most boxing games you just got a single guy you play that has no stats and you just swing like crazy

Hi. I'm playing this game once in a while for some time now.

I reached, one by one, to Smokin' Joe Blow (28th) just trowing punches. He has a blowing punch. Although his power bar stat is a lie.
I fell down twice for an humiliating draw. :cry:

I need to start boxing now.
