Where did you hear those rumours, Juanca?
At the moment all we know is that it's down.
AFAIK there has been so statement from Sarinee (alias Underdogs, ie the site's founder) or any crew members on the matter yet.
Though, with the way HOTU has been gathering dust for over two years, it seems like an even toss to me.

Yes actually i made a search and the same thing happened in 2001 and 2006 and 2007. but never for so many days....

Btw R.u.s.s you could share what you call "better sources":max:

It has been said, the car is moving, but anybody is driving it.
However I hope the site will be online again.

Nothing there about HOTU ending, Juanca. You probably misunderstood what "bakkelun" wrote - what he meant was that if the hosting service isn't paid for hosting space and bandwidth, it first takes the site offline and deletes the files some time later (how long that is depends on the webhost in question).
All that is based on the assumption that HOTUs downtime is due to the hosting bills being unpaid, which doesn't neccesarily have to be the case. There's a number of different possibilities.
