One of the better know classics is definitely an oldie but a goodie by the name of Congo Bongo.
You are an explorer in the deepest darkest jungles of African Congo and a primate (probably a gorilla) tickles you while you’re asleep. Now we can’t have that, can we?
And now comes the fun part – catching the ape and getting some payback!
It’s a simple arcade type of a game, where you need to jump, skip and avoid obstacles and come across the stage in order to progress.
The game can be played with either keyboard or a joystick and you can turn the sounds on and off. Since it was a PC Booter game you might have problems running it (see the technical note at the bottom). And you can even play in two player hot seat mode!
To play the game properly you need to slow the DOSBox down to some 300 cycles. In order to run this game you also need to boot it inside DOSBox. To do this you need to put it in a folder that DOSBox will recognize as a subfolder of C:
Example:
Make a folder C:\\dosgames\\booter
Download and extract Congo Bongo into the booter folder (C:\\dosgames\\booter\\congo.img).
Run DOSBox
Mount C: C:\\dosgames
C:
Boot C:\\booter\\congo.img
