The same procedure as every year?...
No, absolutely not. There are 7x7 cover tiles. When you click on one, the underlying three-sided tile is revealed. These can be rotated stepwise in one directory. You change one tile per turn, trying to get three matching pictures in a row (horizontally, vertically or diagonally), memorising where which pictures are for future turns. When you get such a triplet, you win and get a synopsis of a bible verse describing the picture of the found triplet (when you quit, the last revealed picture is described). Only mouse control (sorry, keyboarders). The player number can be one (showing the tries you needed as a result) to three.
Eyes and ears...
The graphics is VGA. Style = textually pleasing, graphically stumbling. The tiles make a faint internal speaker crackle. Fitting church FM musics at the title screen, the instructions and the winning/quitting screen.

An interesting but strange ruleset. To have to uncover the three-folded tiles is nonsense (except for programming matters). And it's nearly impossible to memorise 147(!) picture locations which even are ordered in sequences. It becomes a mere good-luck clicking safari. Furthermore, it is - in several respects - harmful to the challenge/competition to go for only one triplet. Dan Sharpe simply should have made a triplet matching game in which you always flip three normal cards corresponding to the pairs concept (Trinity Matchup, anyone?). ONE point! Recommended for extreme memorisers, random clickers and small groups.
Because of a bug in Borland Pascal, you get the runtime error 200 on undamped fast systems. For a fix, click the (future) link in the extras, but be aware that the game then runs slower as intended. Under post-DOS operating systems you should simply use DOSBox. If you can't change to FM music or/and want to hear the title screen tune, start the game with C:\>3FOLD /FM.
