Zork II is the sequel to the well-known text-based game Zork I, and suffers from the same weaknesses: a poor storyline and very little background information.
Zork II is a text-based game just like its predecessor; you use commands to move around and perform actions, including Look, Take, Get, or Kill. The game starts right where you left off in your quest to explore the Great Underground Empire, find treasures and, of course, survive. The game can get frustrating, because if an item is not taken or a task done early in the game, you may well get stuck later on. This is the curse of the Zork games.
In Zork II, the puzzles are pretty difficult. The main problem is that there are no "clues" to tell you how to complete the puzzle. This can sometimes result in death and having to restart the game.
If you enjoyed Zork I or want to play a difficult text-based game, you will love Zork II - The Wizard of Frobozz. It's not for the impatient, however.
Like Zork I, this game runs perfectly on Windows XP. Just run the zork2.bat file, and it will start up.
